IS Lethias supposed to be immortal?

in Icewind Dale: Enhanced Edition
AS the title, told him to sod off, have had him at near death for about 10 minutes now, but he just wont die.

    I can confirm this! It looks like Lethias worst status is "Almost dead". Even after beating him for several minutes he just wont die. With other words: He seems to be immortal. ;o)

    Seems impervious to weaponry. Can be slain with a cleric's turn undead ability however. Haha, I should not have told you that. Now the innocent fellow is in danger.
