Dear community,

Considering Install orders from experienced modders (at least the ones i have been looking at recently) i would suggest to install the mods listed below (in the same order), before DSotSC (or even/probably Dark Horizons) :

    Imoen 4 Ever v10
    Endless BG1 v13
    Transitions v2.4
    Shades of the Sword Coast

I would also probably stick to either EndlessBG1 or Transitions; but it's totally viable to install them together knowing that Transitions will overwrite some parts of Endless BG1.

NB : Why do install The Calling that late and after SCS ? Any specific reason ?

I also used BiG World Project v19.2 as one of my references for order installation and it says that The Calling checks for The Tweaks Anthology and SCS, thus it should be installed after them.

    @Zoltanavr
Note that the BiG World Project list may be out of date considering updates to relevant mods.

Ensure you put DLCMerger as your VERY FIRST MOD!

Use the EET mod compatibility list as a guide to determine what goes where. Some stuff MUST go pre-EET but after DLCMerger, like Dark Horizons and ahungry's Dark Horizons Fix.

@Endarire I do not have GOG or Steam version of the game. It’s downloaded from Beamdog client, so I believe I don’t need DLCMerger mod. Also I do not play EET, just BG1EE&SOD game. I’ve seen the list and it’s only compatibility list and mods are presented in alphabetical order but not installation order.

Anyway thanks for advise, as I will play EET in future.

    Apologies about the misunderstanding.

If you have BG1EE + SoD from BeamDog, DLCMerger is already installed.

    Some thoughts:
    • Dark Horizons: I seem to recall balance issues; either overpowered enemies at the very beginning or in the Mines, and overpowered treasure. I would avoid.
    • Dark Side of Sword Coast: Automatically adds some unbalanced spells and goodies. There was also something else wrong with it, but can't recall specifics.
    • Gorgon's Eye: In my humble opinion, the mod is too new (released 8/26); sure you want to roll the dice with something so untested?
    • With all those quest mods, you have to add an XP reducer, such as EET Tweaks, to keep the game in check.
    • All that additional banter from the banter mods would drive me up a wall - You might spend the entire game hitting the [ENTER] key to "next" thru the dialogue.
    • No NPC mods? So many to choose (Finch, Valerie, and Brandock are my favs)
    • Suggest some additional gameplay tweaks, including Spell Revisions Revised, Item Revision Revised, Scales of Balance, Song & Silence, and Rogue Rebalancing. Can't imagine not playing without 'em now.

If you look for install order syntax, also refer to the modname.ini inside the mod packages. I know it's tedious that not all information is also included into the readmes, but I'll apologize by saying that a modder's / my day has only 24 hours, as well.
You need to do some changes to your install order in post 1 to assure compatibility of the mods. Please note: I can't give the perfect order for all your mods, but I can at least for the ones I am maintaining which I put in bold. Meaning, the mods in bold need to be in this order I posted. The ones I didn't mark can/should stay where they are imho. The italic ones I don't know but they don't seem off to me - as much as I can judge the install order for these (meaning, best you rely on other feedback for these). I commented a few mods where I am not sure.

    1 Eeex
    2 Dragonspear UI++
    3 Bubb's Spell Menu
    4 Dark Horizons
5 Dark Side of the Sword coast

    20 Themed tweaks
    22 Framed
23 The Gorgon's eye -> I'd probably put this earlier, I don't know this mod (i.e. didn't look at the scripting)

@ChitownWillie thanks for your input. Based on it I decided do not install Dark Horizons and Dark Side mods as it's make no sense for me to get +3 staff in Friendly Arm Inn :) and get level 5 Skald in Beregost with 3-4-5 level spells known and scrolls

As to NPC mods - I'm still kin on Bioware and Beamdog NPCs to exprerinece any other new guys.

As to Gameplay Tweaks - I want to be as close to original BG1EE mechanics as possible, e.g. I'm installing tougher encounters and some quility of life components from Tweaks Anthology and SCS.

    Thanks again for good insights.

@jastey I'm fully aware that you and other modders have regular life with 24 hours only and i would like to thank you for great work you are doing to make IE games experience much better!!!

Thanks for your order installation recommendations. I foolowed it and everything went smoothly.

As to Mysteries of Sword Coast I tried to install initiallly version 3.52 from link at ArcaneCoast ( https://www.dropbox.com/s/qtx8hyebsq1yfl1/_TWMdemo_3.52R3_BGEE.zip?dl=1) However I discovered that this mod is not fully compatible with some others and decided not to install it.

I understood that there 2 great mods from Polish Community which unfortunately are not translated to English and not compatible to other mods. The mods are Mysteries of the Sword Coast and New Tales of the Sword Coast.

    @Zoltanavr
I talked with Cahir, someone who was about to translate Mysteries of the Sword Coast to English, and he said that this mod wasn't meant for megamod installs and, to him, was a niche mod that wasn't worth the input. (Cahir, apologies if I misunderstood you.)

@ChitownWillie thanks for your kind words regarding Brandock! I hope to have the SoD part really finished in the not too distant future.

It's quite popular in Polish community, especially within classic version fans, but it hasn't been updated for a long time, it was only partially translated to English and AFAIK, it's not EET compatible. Also it wasn't really coded with other mods compatibility in mind.

Hello Guys! I’m in Chapter 5 of my run on Insane difficulty and would like to share some of thoughts on installed mods:

    * SCS - I can’t even imagine to play without this mod. Magic battles, spell selection of casters, calls for help, focused fire, etc. makes the game much more interesting and provides great immersion.
    * Made in Heaven: Quests and Encounters - 1st time installed this mod and it’s great experience, especially with spider infestations. It requested to use all resources I had ( wands, scrolls, potions) to progress in certain areas.
    * Shades of the Sword Coast - great mod which makes BG1EE much more filled with well-written content and makes more interesting discovering new areas ( and one of my learning is that sometimes it’s better to leave some things untouched… )
    * The Gorgon’s Eye - interesting mod adding more flavor to the game before you enter to Baldur’s Gate City. I did evil way of doing tasks which helped me to balance my reputation for Neutral party. Next time I will try good path. Unfortunately there is not much content once you take your new role ( will not spoil here). In any case I would recommend to try this mod.
    * BG1 NPC project -must install mod - nothing new. I never play without this mod. Just wanted to say thanks for possibility to romance Dynaheir.
    * Aerie in BG1 and Magic Store of Vergadain -these 2 mods provides a kind of Exploit synergy. Once you have access to Ghost Merchant and Aerie has established her store in Carnival you will get access to free of charge healing which makes playthrough much easier. Additionally it’s strange to me that you can access “Rest in the inn” through the Ghost merchant and actually you can rest in areas where you are not supposed to rest. It would be great to eliminate such possibility in new version of the mod. Anyway both are good mods, which are must install for me.

In general I can’t even imagine how to play now without mods and would like to say thank you to all mod authors - you are doing great work to keep interest to Baldur’s Gate!

    Dear Community,

I'm going to start my new BG1EE&SOD with bunch of mods like GUI improvement, NPC expansions, new NPC, new quests, tweaks. I tried to build proper mod installation order based on mod's readme's, previous advices in this topic and information on this forum.

Difference in this installation comparing to previous one will be excessive use of new NPC mods. I will play with SCS Insane+ Made in Heaven: Quest & Encounters which will boost the difficulty of the game dramatically. I will accept consequences of fight outcomes, e.g. if NPC dies in combat, it dies permanently.

I kindly ask veterans of the community to look into my order and provide your advice, insights or any comment on it.

    18 Brage's Redemption
You have bgqe installed; so Brage's Redemption can go into the NPC mod section. (I think I missed this above in my last suggestion.)
60 The Vanishing of Skie Silvershield
    61 Brandock the Mage

    63 Grey the Dog
Those are very late, I'd put them into NPC section, too.
    Definitely before Tweaks Anthology.

My NPC mods have compatibility components, these need to go late (after all NPC mods, Quest and item mods).
    59 The Tweaks Anthology
I would put this right before SCS.
62 Made in Heaven: Encounters and Quests
I'm surprised this comes so late, is this a requirement? I'd rather put this earlier, but I haven't looked into the readme.
