Oh interesting. I have the “disable all romances” option from Tweaks. Maybe that does something with the Romance Variable?
  • SkitiaSkitia Member Posts: 1,127
Yes, if the Tweaks disables them by setting the romance variable to 3, which is my guess, it will cause issues. I will still edit the mod to work with all three possible romance values, however.

Done the slaver compound to completion and had Aerie in party for several days; is there anyway to kind of force the necessary encounter to further the quest?

Did you release Hendak? It is required. in fact the slaver compound isn't required to cleared yet for it to start, only for it to progress further.

Then you only need to be in an Athkatla outdoor area that you then transition from.

I've played through all of SoA on an all new run and Wings was a total blast, it especially seems to add a lot for a character romancing her. Highlight for me is the Aerie/Imoen friendship. In a perfect world I'd love to see Imoen acknowledge [charname] has a new significant other. Maybe in ToB? But it seems to me it would be news to her at the time of her rescue.

But that's a small thing. As is, this adds so much life and fun to these favorite characters. Its a mod I expect I will always use from here on out.

If someone volunteered to write it, I would add it. Currently it's just Russian, Chinese, and Spanish.

Hello Skitia, I'd like to contribute and provide polish translation for that beautiful mod. However I have one question - as you may know or not in polish we have verbs that have female and male version - what is the best approach here from modder's perspective? Prepare two dialog files? (I've seen DialogF "female" version of translation"). Or use only such builds of the sentence that would avoid female/male distinguish? Or maybe something else that i do not know of? Wish you all a nice day

When working with *.tra files (weidu input for anything string) you can have two strings inside an entry
    @1234 = ~male PC version~ ~female PC version~
But that only takes care of agreement with the PC.
(Or I think it's this way, I had things mixed up on this point many times already)

I'm not familiar with how tra works with gendered verbs, but building the sentence to avoid distinguishment might be easiest where possible.
  • mledmled Member Posts: 70
It can help, yes, but can lead to convoluted, unnatural sentences if pushed too far.
And I don't know about polish, but in french for example it's far from limited to verbs.
Even in english there already is things like him/her, his/her etc. which can be handled with keywords in IE. But then we also have adjectives (petit/petite for small, beau/belle for pretty etc.)

Thank you mled - this is exactly my concern..

Skitia - I'll try to see how it goes in a genderless forms but I am expecting difficulties - I'll let you know. However it would be best to check how to code male/female versions but if thats not your priority right now I can totally understand it.
