Just finished a new install of the game. I plan to play through BG1 and icewind dale before heading to SOD so it will be a while but I plan to retest the BG1 Black Hearts content and then the Icewind Dale banter pack before heading to the new Black Hearts version 2 content in SOD. Fingers crossed everything goes well.
Hi, really big fan of the BG1 portion of Black Hearts, and I'm really keen to play the new SoD expansion!
Question: if Imoen4Ever is installed and Imoen is in the party for the SoD portion, will there be any inconsistencies with the added content? For example, a conversation where the PC can comment that Imoen had to stay behind in Baldur's Gate, when, thanks to the mod, she's still in your party? That sort of thing. Will help me sort out my load order for this run.

I don't believe there's any dialogue that references Imoen needing to be left behind. One or two incidents where you say that you were attacked, but nothing that would contradict Imoen being there with you.
I've completed the first 5 contracts. No crashes or bugs to report. I found some more grammatical fixes though. The combat feels more difficult this time, I don't know if it's SCS or the mod itself but it feels more challenging than in the past.
No, my life started when "I" pierced her neck with that nail file.
One of "the" Keepers, Hull, would get into drunk antics.
But why should I "let" an opportunity slip through my fingers....
Or
But why should I allow an opportunity "to" slip through my fingers...
I'm just trying "to keep" the floors clean.
hobgoblins marauders should be hobgoblin marauders. (hobgoblin should not be plural)
Wow thank you for continuing to point these out. I'll make these changes for the next release!
Not sure about things being more difficult. SCS might have affected the scripts used for Black Pits? Nothing should have really changed with the BH mod.
When I reach Icewind Dale, do you want me to private message you any problems I find with the banter pack or should I post them here? I could private message you on gibberlings3.net if you feel it would clutter up this topic. It's up to you but I intend to push to the end of TOB this time even if I run into trouble with some untested mods. So I will slowly report back on black hearts for BG1, Icewind Dale banter pack, and black hearts SOD, in that order.
BTW, I feel like the English translation flows pretty good and feels natural overall. I'm thinking this will probably be the last pass needed. It's always surprising to see problems that I missed on my previous play throughs. I think it's because I am distracted by the game and my brain fills in the blanks without me even noticing it sometimes.

Yeah go ahead and msg me on G3! Thank you for the continued help being a bit of an editor haha
I am in the middle of a playthrough using Version 1.1.
I know updating in the middle of a playthrough is a bad idea, but would updating between BG 1 and SoD work in order to experience the added 2.0 content, when I then start SoD by importing my BG 1 final save after?

Nothing in the BG1 section of the mod affects or carries over into the SOD part except for items. There's a chance some of those might have broken descriptions I think? They would still work properly though.
Besides that I can't think of anything that would go too wrong.
I've made it through Baldur's Gate and returned to Candlekeep. I've got some TOTSC questing to do before I finish up the BG1 Black Hearts content. This time I have encountered no problems. No bugs to report at all and I've only spotted one more text fix. The issue I had with doubles being spawned after the second big talk on the second floor of the Elfsong tavern did not occur this time. This install is identical to my last one minus the black pits mod. I'll report on the last bit of BG1 content sometime this week most likely and then move on to Icewind Dale where I will report through PM on gibberlings3.net.
Ah, "appearances" can fool but "this" is no mere rodent.
1) A question- Is this story complete for BG2 ? I'm in Chapter 5 of BG1 and I know there is SOD content now but I'm curious if there is already a follow-up in BG2 or if that is something for later?
2) One bug- When I went to the ElfSong Tavern, Illasera wasn't present. Same thing that happened here and, thankfully, I was able to summon her via console and things seem to have been progressing fine since but I thought it was worth mentioning.

I'm glad you're enjoying the mod! I never could find out the reason for Ilasera disappearing, but I'll keep an eye out on it and look at the script again to see if maybe there's something funky going on.
For your first question, the story should be pretty complete. It ends conclusively within BG1 and can continue right into your meeting with Ilasera at the start of TOB. While I am working on a BG2 (and will eventually do a TOB mod *crossing fingers*) mod, that stands as pretty separate and more is intended to give more flavor to events in TOB than any direct continuation.
The SOD portion of the mod stands very independently. It has a recurring character from the BG1 portion of the mod, but the story isn't too connected.
Hi, I'm at last trying the SoD part of this great mod, with latest 2.03 release.
I really like the Neris dialogs, particularly about what happened to Illasera.
I suppose the answers to her questions about the three NPC determine their fate, instead of a dead variable from BG1 part ?
I noticed two smalls typos so far :
- Neris talks about duke Eltan Silvershield instead of duke ENTAR Silvershield
- Neris talks about the Underceller instead of the UNDERCELLAR
For your consideration: once the stolen manuscript is retrieved from the Gentleman, there should be some kind option to either:
A. Start Chapter Six early, i.e. go to Candlekeep of your own volition after storming the Iron Throne tower. Maybe Illasera would even approve of this... for the right price, however it's paid.
Or
B. Lampshade a reason why you can't use the manuscript to return to Candlekeep yourself. After all, there are options to stonewall items from Illasera's quests, such as the Necromancer's spellbook.
I don't think the play we have to recover qualifies for the entrance fee. And all the other tomes are no longer available. Imoen have an interjection about this.
I just finished up the main quest of The Pilgramage, and I really, really enjoyed it. The character writing was great as ever, and I appreciated the chance to ask the featured characters (
Tamoko and Cythandria
for my playthrough) about their history and their feelings on the events of BG1. The ending in particular was lovely, very poignant. Seeing Nerys return was great, I really like her, and if you happen to be planning a continuation of Black Hearts into SoA I'd love to see her become a full companion there. Thanks again for one of my favourite mods.

I also made a new high resolution portrait for Neris, doing some small upscaling to a NWN portrait already modified by The Artisan here : https://forums.beamdog.com/discussion/comment/793525#Comment_793525
