EET NPC Crossmod Installation Ordert

in BGII:EE Mods
This is a copy of my original topic on G3, adding it here in case it helps anyone planning out an EET install where they want to maximize their crossmod content.
I keep a running list of crossmod components from NPC mods for install order planning- I haven't seen this posted elsewhere so I'll share it if it helps anyone with planning their install order. This is not a list of all crossmod banter- most of that is found in the dialogue files which will install in their entirety and then fire when certain triggers (location, party composition, chapter, etc.) are met.
This list specifically refers to separate NPC crossmod files distinct from the rest of the dialogue files, where the mod installer may look to see if the other mod(s) have already been installed prior to installing that component. Since the WeiDu installer can only look backwards to what has already been installed, and can't look forward to future uninstalled mods, mod install order frequently determines whether or not all of the crossmod content successfully gets installed.
Some mods have separate crossmod components that allow for the mods to be split-installed- install all of the components other than the crossmod, then go back after all quest and NPC mods are complete and run the final crossmod component. Jastey is excellent at doing this, and it provides a foolproof way to successfully install all crossmod content without obsessing over mod order.
Mods that have separate crossmod components that can be split-installed:
Adrian
Ajantis BG1- separate SOD component that should be installed separate from main component, see below
Ascalon's Breager
Brandock
Brage's Redemption
Evandra
Grey the Dog
Husam
Isra BG2
Mods that have seperate crossmod files but cannot be split-installed (I have put these in the order I install them for reference, and where there are overlapping crossmod files I generally install them from smallest to largest, unless the mod author instructs differently- the order does not matter for the mods installed on BG1, but for BG2, the mod listed should be installed after the mods referenced where possible):
On BG1 pre-EET:
Note that all four of these NPCs have crossmod with each other, but it will only be installed if the mod detects the other NPCs as already installed. That means on an EET run, the player will never see all of the crossmod, no matter the installation order. In addition, these mods also have crossmod for the Skitia, Glam Pack, and Aura mods that will be installed on BG2 EET- that crossmod will not be installed on an EET run due to install order. If anyone wants to see all of the crossmod dialogue for these NPCs, they need to do it on a BGEE play-thorugh, not EET.
Sirene BG1 and Drake were recently moved on the G3 EET Compatibility list from install on BG1 to install on BG2 after EET start, I tested this on my last install and it did not work so for now I am continuing to install on BG1 BEFORE EET start.
Given that order here doesn't matter, I install them from the lowest amount of crossmod to the highest:
On BG2 post-EET Start

Given that order here doesn't matter, I install them from the lowest amount of crossmod to the highest:
- White (has crossmod files for Aura, Drake, Sirene and Verr'Sza)
- Verr'Sza BG1 (has crossmod for Aura, Drake, Isra, Sirene, White)
- Drake (has crossmod for Aura, Glam Pack, Helga, Kale, Recorder, Sirene, Shades of Sword Coast, Verr'Sza, Vienxay, White)
- Sirene BG1 (has crossmod for Aura, Drake, Emily, Glam Pack, Helga, Kale, Verr'Sza, Vienxay, White)
On BG2 post-EET Start
- Transitions (after Endless BG1)
- BG1 Romantic Encounters (after Transitions, Endless BG1)
- Imoen 4 Ever SOD components (after Jastey SoD Tweakpack, Another Fine Hell, Boareskyr Bridge)
- Ajantis BG1 (after Transitions, Endless BG1, NTOTSC)
- Kelsey (after Ascension- option to install banter for Ascension and Weimer's Solaufein if detected)
- Keto (after Kelsey, has crossmod which can be installed if Kelsey detected)
- SimDing0's Quest Pack (after Unfinished Business, Kelsey, Keto)
- Alternatives
- Imoen 4 Ever Alternatives/Saerileth component, can be installed if either mod is detected
- Turnabout
- Romantic Encounters 2
- Afaaq the Djinni Companion (will look for and patch compatibility with SimDig0 Quest Pack)
- Coran for BG2
- Iylos (after Ascension)
- The Longer Road (after Ascension, SimDing0's Quest Pack, and after Wheels of Prophecy- although I have removed this for now from my installs)
- Skie: Cost of One Girl's Soul (for compatibility, needs to be installed before Love Conquers All if both are used, LCA adjusts for Skie, but not other way around)
- Love Conquers All (after Coran for BG2, Skie:Cost, Longer Road. Installer checks and patches for compatibility with Skie:Cost, Longer Road, and Roxanne's Corwin for EET)
- Ajantis BG1 main component (will install crossmod for Endless BG1 and Transitions if detected during initial install). Note separate SOD component listed above which should be installed later in the install
- Sir Ajantis BG2 (after Skie Cost of One Girl's Soul, Alternatives, Romantic Encounters 2, SimDing0's Quest Pack)
- Xan for BG2 (after Longer Road, Assassinations, Back to Brynnlaw, Sellswords, Tower of Deception, Tales of Deep Gardens, Romantic Encounters 2)
- Corthala Romantique (after Kelsey, Jastey's Solaufein, UB2- will install crossmod for any of those three mods if detected)
- The Luxleys (after Nathaniel, will install crossmod for Nathaniel if detected)
- Isra BG1 (after Gavin, Valerie- has optional crossmod components for both Gavin and Valerie if detected)
- Glam Pack (after Sandrah, which I don't use- I think I recall this was done as a joke after Sandrah added crossmod for Glam Pack)
- Nephele (before Petsy, after Haer'Dalis Romance- will install crossmod for Haer'Dalis Romance if detected)
- Petsy (after Nephele- option to install crossmod for Nephele if detected)
- Fade (after Petsy, Ninde, Isra, Amber, Romantic Encounters 2, option to install crossmod for Romantic Encounters 2)
The following Lava-Artisan-Skitia mods have crossmod interdependency, meaning crossmod will only be installed if the other mods are detected in the installation process. That makes it impossible to establish an order where all crossmod content will be identified and installed. The recommendation here is to start with the Lava mods since their crossmod files are smaller and these NPCs have crossmod banter in the Crossmod Banter Pack which can be installed later, then follow up with Sirene and Pai'Na by Artisan. The Skitia NPCs have crossmod with each other and the Artisan NPCs, but will only install it if those mods are detected, so I install them in order of least to most crossmod content. Fortunately the Skitia NPCs for BG2 are in the same mod, eliminating the need to order them, and then finish this section with the last two Artisan mods, K'Vel and Aura. Aura goes last because it has the largest amount of banter and dependencies.- Will O Wisp (crossmod for Foundling, Pai'Na, Petsy, Quayle BG2, Sirene BG2- but smaller crossmod files so install before Pai'Na, Sirene and Foundling)
- Foundling (after Shadow Magic if used, also has crossmod for Sirene and Will o Wisps but will only install if it detects those mods)
- Sirene BG2 (crossmod content for Foundling, Fade, Innershade, I Shall Not Forget, Pai'Na, Romantic Encounters BG2, Tales of Deep Gardens, Yoshimo Romance, Yvette, but will only install if those mods are detected)
- Pai"na (after Unfinished Business 2, has crossmod for UB2, Will O Wisps and Sirene BG2, but will only install if those mods are detected)
- Helga BG1 (the Skitia and Artisan NPCs almost all have crossmod files with each other, so I install them in order from least to most crossmod content. Helga has the least, but does have crossmod for Aura, Emily, Kale, Recorder and Vienxay)
- Recorder BG1 (after Helga and Drake; has crossmod for both of those plus Aura, Emily, Kale, Vienxay)
- Vienxay BG1 (after Helga, Recorder, Drake and Sirene; has crossmod for all of those plus Aura, Emily, Kale )
- Emily BG1 (after Helga, Recorder, Drake, Sirene, Vienxay; has crossmod for all of those plus Aura, Kale)
- Kale BG1 (after Helga, Recorder, Drake, Sirene, Vienxay, Emily; has crossmod for all of those plus Aura)
- Skitia NPCs for BG2 (after Wilson Chronicles, Petsy, Yvette, Sirene BG2)
- K'Vel (after Helga, Recorder, Vienxay, Emily and Kale, but will only install if those mods are detected)
- Aura (after Drake, Emily, Glam Pack, Helga, Isra, Kale, Recorder, Sirene, Shades of Sword Coast, Verr'Sza, Vienxay and White, but will only install if those mods are detected)
Later in install order:- Hidden Adventures- has separate Anomen component that should be installed later after Item Revisions
- Autumn's Twilight (after Wilson, Hidden Adventures- will install crossmod for both if detected)
- Rjali Romance- if you are going to install this mod and use its multi-romance component, all other romanceable female NPC mods have to be installed before this, there are 16 such mods listed in the ReadMe
- Garrick: Tales of a Troubadour (after Jarl Pack, BG1 NPC)
- Item Upgrade
- Item Revisions
- Install crossmod components from the nine mods listed at top of post (Brage sword and Hidden Adventures Anomen plot should be installed here after Item Upgrade and Item revisions)
- Spell Revisions
- IWDification
- BG1 NPC for SOA: because this benefits from the spell kits, it needs to go later in the install order. It also needs to go after any of the xNPC in BG2 mods if you would prefer to play those versions and not the BG1 NPC for SOA version: Yeslick, Skie:Cost, Branwen, Coran, Alora, Faldorn, Ajantis, Quayle, Tiax. Note that Lava's Return of Xzar and Montaron is not currently EET compatible, so is not an alternative to the Xzar and Montaron here.
- Crossmod Banter Pack: since the last update had a significant addition of the Smiling Imp crossmod banters for the BG1 NPC in SOA NPCs, it now needs to be installed much later than the normal banter mod section of the install
- Heroes, Thieves and Moneylenders- has significant crossmod, install after all of the above, and not in the normal quest section of the install
- Detective Guild of Athkatla- has significant crossmod, install after all of the above, and not in the normal quest section of the install
Any corrections or other mods with crossmod files I may have missed, please post, thanks.
