LE: again, i wanna say, that which i find really strange and sad is that the assassins specialty, which is the backstab/assassinate is, somewhat paradoxically, useless against the strongest foes. it just doesnt make sense.

Maybe Bounty Hunter is more appropriate vs Ravager? U can Maze him (no saving throws, bypassing magic resistance) several times for few rounds! Unfortunately, it's only Maze, not Imprisonment, so he will come back each time! 😼

could be interesting, but you have to kill him anyway.

Pixel, your english -- not a problem. My making sense is the issue! What I meant -- you were doing that math about how 17 traps are not enough. What I was saying -- if you HAD all the traps needed to *poof* dead rvgr, we would not have this thing of beauty:

"after days and days of trying, i finally managed to do it. heres how: i buffed myself up as much as i could, tho its not like i was going to beat him with physical attacks, melee or ranged - his resistances and AC are far too much for a thief, because of LoB and all. then summoned a bunch of creatures, like a mordankainens sword, a djinni, hakeashar, and i made a simulacrum of myself. i entered the arena, trembling with fear. i agroed the Ravager with all summons and managed to drag him and the bone blades into a corner. then ran to the opposite side with my simulacrum and set 7 spike traps with him, taking about half the time it would normally take to do so, thanks to the sim laying traps along side myself. at this point, or maybe a bit earlier, i used a web scroll, for safety and more time to maneuver / lay traps. its important that the Ravager himself is pretty stupid, if you run quickly out of his visual range, he will not follow, instead he just hangs around in the same spot. so that helped a lot - the bone blades, however are much smarter, they will come get you even if they just finished fighting your summons and you are out of their range. next, i went and faked a melee attack on the Ravager, drag him into the mines, and dont ask me how i managed to not get the bone blades to arrive there faster than him, thats all buried memory by now. or maybe they were still fighting the magic sword or mth. he ate the traps and got to Injured. now i ran for my life into a safe corner, far from any enemy, and as my summons all died or were unsummoned, there was a very brief moment of silence which allowed me to save the game - yeah i know, you could say its an exploit/cheat, but ill take it and im not ashamed by it. now comes like 10 reloads or smth like that, cos i had to do the following: cast another web spell, because the bone blades were coming to get me (like i said, they are smart), then run to safety and use the time i just bought to: use a wish scroll and hope to get that options where you get a nights rest and all your ability charges are restored, make another simulacrum, lay 7 more spike traps. now it becomes a little blurry - all i know is i managed to drag him again into the traps, taking him to Near death (meanwhile the bone blades were busy with a couple more summons i made after laying the traps), then i dragged him away from where the traps were, returned again (by now he was far enough) and i and my simulacrum which was still alive laid 3 more spike traps. but by now all the summons were gone again, and i had to circle the arena a couple of times in utter horror, both to not provoke the Ravagers ranged attack and not have the bone blades trigger the traps. i used the Ring of duplication in panic, managed to use a Monster summoning III to buy several seconds, than i went and melee attacked the Ravager, get him to follow again into the 3 Spike traps and......

    he fu**ing died!"
