This mod adds a new companion: Vito, a neutral kenku diviner (mage). He can join the party once you reach Kuldahar Pass. Vito has foreseen his own death, and you—the avalanche survivor—may be the key to changing a future he’s unwilling to accept. The mod includes a small quest, a friendship path, a set of romantic dialogues, new spells, and a few new items.

Note on the romance:
This romance is not a physical relationship. While the mod allows the player and Vito to become “an item,” playable races and kenku are not biologically compatible. Their relationship therefore focuses on the psychological and emotional aspects of being with someone - it could be compared to almost a romantic asexual relationship. If you’re seeking a more “steamy” romance, you may need to look elsewhere. To access the romantic dialogues, you must show interest in Vito during the appropriate conversation. Your character must also have 13 or more Charisma.

Trying the Guy now, kinda expected funny way of talking but then I learned Kenkus are not anymore like that according to the lore. Anyway he is mystical and right up my street. Need to level him up a bit so i can see the new spells

Nah, I would rather he talk normally than give this weird feeling that something sounds too weird. And yes, he comes with new spells.

Just curious about his "Confusing Vocal Mimicry" special ability - Any additional clues/tips?

It's mostly fluff stuff. Whoever you hit with it, they will be confused for a round, so it may be of some minor help on the very beginning, but I don't think you will need it later on.

An awesome addition - Vito quickly became one of my favourite companions, right alongside Dusky, Dendjelion, and T’viy (and the list just keeps going!).

The core concept behind the character is genuinely intriguing: a man who receives a vision of his own death, which then drives his personal quest.

From a technical standpoint, a pure mage is always a welcome addition. Until now, we’ve only had Karihi, Tipps, and Hommet - who joins fairly late in the game. On top of that, Vito comes with a set of unique spells, and experimenting with new magic is always a lot of fun.

Last but not least, the soundset deserves special praise — it’s truly professional-level and adds a great deal to the character’s overall quality.

100% w/ norQ - great NPC with fun & quirky abilities. Thank you for all your hard work!

My only quibble is with the name; "Vito" gives me more Sopranos than Middle Earth.

And I'm not even Sopranos fan. And neither I am crazy about Tolkien. While I know there is influence, I do like breaking the rules, and our guy here lived in a normal city before.

Truth be told, I usually use rather crazy names like Dendjelion or Oak-Maw, or Xzelë, and this time I craved for something more normal. He's already a kenku, so let's at least give him a normal name to contrast with who he is.

Anyway, thanks guys. I'm glad you like him :)

I have to ask, both you and other modders have made several custom NPCs for IWD and I wonder, why has no one tried making the existing NPCs that pretty much scream companions as companions? Think Accalia (the Tempus cleric subordinate of Everard), Erevain Blacksheaf (Xan's cousin in the inn), Hildreth Highhammer (the lady dwarf in the tavern), Hjollder and possibly Hallaster (Arundel's messenger to Easthaven who could just be retconned to have survived), Oswald Fiddlebender!, maybe Jhonen? or Calliana or either of the two Ilmatari brothers or even Lysan or have Iselore be Arundel's apparentice.

There are just so many NPCs around Easthaven and Kuldahar who could integrate so well into the existing story.

Firstly, because I mostly prefer telling my own stories. Thanks to IWD and the story, I have a chance to explore some interesting stories I have in mind; tales that do not work well with BG2, or I just imagine those stories to fit Frozenfar better.

Secondly, I do not want to cause story incompatibilities. Oswald and Lysan have their own stories, tied to IWD2, and their stories are very specific. Hjollder is a key character who has to be alive and present at some points. The fate of Erevain Blacksheaf is also written and... deadly specific.

Besides, I would also need to find these characters interesting.

But I would seriously encourage to add people to add something like that (without causing conflicts with the stories and/or my own mods, hah -- seriously, my other mods also expand some existing characters, so...)
