The Forgotten Edge v0.2 – Boots and Sword (Big update BG1EE / Small update BG2EE)
# [MOD] The Forgotten Edge v0.2 Released
Hello everyone,
I am happy to release **The Forgotten Edge v0.2**, a gameplay overhaul for **Baldur's Gate: Enhanced Edition**.
The goal of this mod is not simply to make the game harder. Instead, it aims to make encounters more interesting, improve creature behaviour, strengthen the impact of player choices and restore some of the danger and uncertainty that made Baldur's Gate memorable.
## Highlights
### Reputation Matters
Temple donations can no longer erase every crime.
Actions have consequences, and players who choose darker paths will need to live with the results.
### Improved Summoning
Monster Summoning spells have been redesigned and expanded with new creatures and improved AI.
### Smarter Enemies
Many creatures and NPCs now behave more intelligently and make better use of their abilities.
### Legacy of Bhaal Improvements
Several encounters have been adjusted to provide a more satisfying tactical challenge, especially for Legacy of Bhaal players.
### New Surprises
Veteran players may discover that some familiar encounters no longer play out exactly as they remember...
## Designed For
* Baldur's Gate: Enhanced Edition
* Players looking for a fresh tactical experience
* Legacy of Bhaal players
* Players who enjoy meaningful choices and encounter variety

I would love to hear your thoughts, bug reports and balance feedback.

The README included with v0.2 was not updated properly and still contains information from v0.1. That's my mistake.
Version 0.2 introduces a substantial number of changes, including:
* Reputation system overhaul
* Reworked Monster Summoning spells
* Goodberry improvements
* New creature AI scripts
* Multiple encounter improvements
* Kit and class ability adjustments
* Legacy of Bhaal balance and scripting changes
* New items and creature updates
I will update the README and GitHub documentation so the v0.2 changes are properly documented.
Thank you for pointing it out.
Forgotten Edge v0.2 introduced a patch fixing saving throws for Legacy of Bhaal mode.
Testing was conducted entirely within Baldur's Gate 1, up to the Sarevok encounter. The AI was overhauled, and an "agent" mode was coded (which is, as far as I know, a novelty for Baldur's Gate AI mods). Personally, I found this mod extremely difficult already...
You can technically play the *Siege of Dragonspear* expansion afterwards, but I left the Beamdog AI in SoD unchanged.
For Baldur's Gate 2, I included the fix for Legacy of Bhaal saving throws, but I didn't tackle the AI itself (simply because I view Baldur's Gate 2 as a "symphonic stroll," whereas I consider Baldur's Gate 1—along with the excellent *Siege of Dragonspear*—to be the game's true tactical challenge).
That’s not to say coding for Baldur's Gate 2 wouldn't have offered interesting challenges, but I preferred to take on the tougher task—and that meant Baldur's Gate 1.
So yes, it generally conflicts with SCS...
