Flute flauted (mystery solved)

OK, my Bard picked Magic Flute as an HLA. This is supposed to give them the ability to do stuff like DB Fireball. I can manifest a flute every 8 hours if I desire. Sounds nice, but once I activate the flute, I can't figure out how to do that. DB Fireball doesn't show up in my spell book, doesn't appear when I try casting spells, nor is it an option under abilities. How do I actually use this HLA?

    Arg! Mystery solved. I have to place the wretched thing in an equipment slot, sort of like a wand. Doh!

    Mate. I have to ask, is the Flute HLA bugged? Is it working for you fine?
    According to Fandom.com the flute is permanently bugged and when created, only has the 'Remove fear' charge, it won't cast the other two spells.

    It works for me. You can right-click on the icon in the toolbar to select one of the other flute abilities.

    Like wands of fire, eh. Lovely.
    I'll be using it if my Bard gets to that stage.
