Help with Beamdog HD mod and portraits.

I've been trying to get a Portrait pack and Beamdogs HD mod to work in my game and I'm a little to PC illiterate to get it done. Can anyone point me to a good thread, like step by step. I've been trying to do it the hak file way but I'm not getting it right. Now I have extra files in my Folder but none of it works.

    Are you on gog? On steam there's a version on the workshop that installs the HD mod for you
