BGEE videos thread!

CheesebellyCheesebelly Member Posts: 1,727
That's right! Want to show us your new clip of BGEE that you uploaded to the net? Want to immortalize a moment forever in nice FPS faboulousness (that's not a word, is it?)? Well, you can now use this thread to make some shameless promotion for you and your own videos, or to show to us what cool thing you found out in our newly released BGEE!

I admit I am making this thread to shamelessly promote myself as well, and I'd like to post the following video I made and uploaded recently, it's my Black Pits Let's Play and I am happily going on around it BLIND FOLDED (and therefore can sound a bit ridiculous!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FFq-yZbimEQ

Also, sorry for the thumbnail... I blatantly forgot to put my mascot Puffypoff in it. I feel ashamed D;

So... whatcha waitin' for? SHOW US WHAT YOU GOT! :D

    Few videos have been seen on youtube thus far, I was all excited to look at as many LPs and commentaries as possible :(

    Oh well, I guess they'll eventually come. I just am not usually accostumed to being the FIRST PERSON ON THE PLANET to have uploaded gameplay footage :p

    At any rate, to keep this thread alive and to hopefully motivate future Let's Players, I'll just post shamelessly my new episode to the Black Pits series!

    Now with 100% more mascots in the thumbnail!

    Cool! I was really curious to see Gorion's death scene, can Gorion truly die without Sarevok's final HUH! I just don't know.

    @Brygard2012 : awesome, thanks for the post! :D

    @Moomintroll : Gorion now dies to Sarevok's Deathbringer Blow :)

    I found one with dual commentary, it's kind of presented as if you know nothing about the game, there are a few minor errors, but still a fun watch :D

    The Youtube channel is PressPlayOnline

    Your accent is great. I had a few physics lectures a few months back (for an independent art exhibition ... long story) and the dude teaching us was German and hilarious, made learning way easier.

    Video that Moomintroll found at 15:38. It's BG1-style initation of dialogue. Neat, they're [Overhaul Games] actually implementing fature requests.

    @ZelgadisGW : I can't recall, how is it different from BG2? :o
  • O_BruceO_Bruce Member Posts: 2,790
    @Cheesebelly
    In BG2, when the person (or you) is/are initiating dialogue, you hear their characteristic sound/line at the moment dialog starts. In BG1, this sound/line starts playing when the person, who has something to say to you, are walking towards you (vice versa). To explain it more briefly, let's make Tarnesh as a example.

    BG2 engine: Tarnesh walks towards you, starts dialogue together with "Hi friend!"
    BG1 engine: Tarnesh says "Hi friend!", then walking towards you in order to start dialogue. Basically, you're warned that somebody has a buisness with you.

    I've also tried to explain this in "BG1-style initiation of dialogue request", but I'm not sure if it's any more helpful.

    @ZelgadisGW : thanks, I wouldn't have noticed it without you pointing out. It is quite handy truth be told, yeah!

    i prefer no commentary, @bygard2012. the moment i hear the person talking, i close the video.

    a review, i understand, but i already have all the reviews i care to have

    I'm the same way and some folks like it better that way,this why I create video with out commentary.

    I prefer it when people are talking, commenting on the game, quests, NPC's etc.
    But I prefer they just summaries the conversations. It do get a bit too much sometimes, when everything is read out loud. If the video quality is high, we can pause and read it ourselves.
  • CheesebellyCheesebelly Member Posts: 1,727
    @Bytebrain : that's exactly what I did for my BG1 LP, because I knew I was bad at reading, I decided to just go like "Blahblah he says basically that this happened"
    Then I got a hammer in my head and I started voice acting EVERY SINGLE NPC in BG2. Worst part was definitely Lethinan O_O

    It'd be a shame not to. They are high quality, and there aren't plenty of people doing what you're doing right now. I would definitely enjoy seeing more :)

    I myself haven't posted plenty in this thread in the last days because I'd feel like I'm bumping it too much, but I did upload two (soon to be three) more episodes of my commentary series :

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e0mkWeQNmv0

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=01sQgV20ruY

    The third one is being processed as I type, another one is being rendered. Luckily enough, my new baby with the i7 is able to render a 20 minute video in 20 minutes, unlike my old crapbox that needed 2 hours XD

    Will schedule an upload for tomorrow, as tomorrow I'll need a whole day to upload a monster 1.7 gigabyte video. A shame youtube is losing .mp4 support too... definitely need to find the best quality/filesize format for doing this. .wmv is great, but it takes twice as much to render with Sony Vegas.

    No problem mate! LPs of BG are all fantastic and unique in their own way, that's why I decided to make such thread. Of course, a sub forum entirely would come even more in handy! :)

    New Series! Hopefully first episode tonight. Will be doing this aswell as my normal let's play.

    My and my cousin (he's a bit more experienced than me) have each made an evil character, both with awesome stats, and are going to do an evil playthrough.

    We both have mics so you will hear our in game communication, and our chats about our past D&D adventures. We have already began the journey, but have not gotten far, so I though it would be a good time to start rather than waiting too long. Hopefully this is an interesting idea and will good for you guys to watch.

    Does anyone actually pause and read the dialogues? I know I wouldn't.

    I used to not read dialogues out loud but I found out the dialogues themselves were usually way more entertaining than whatever comments I could make on the fly about them.

    Btw, I'll do my own series, probably the Black Pits on Insane, in a few days. Too many exams atm >.<
