Health bugged or...?

I've now created two nearly identical beastmasters;

str 18/-
dex 16
con 15
Int 14
wis 14
cha 16

Now according to the character statistics screen (what do you call it?), both had "Hit Points/Level: +1", but their "Current/Maximum Hit Points" differed, one was 11 the other 12!

I probably just don't remember how this works, but I was sure it was supposed to be; 10 health +1 for every two points in con above 10.

    It's actually +1 hp/level at 15, 16, 17 and so on CON. 14 CON wouldn't get any bonuses. A bonus for every 2 points over 10 is 3rd edition rules, not 2nd.

    That still wouldn't explain why one beastmaster has more health than the other. If they each have 15 CON and are level 1, they should each have 10 hp +1 for constitution. I can't explain why one of them has twelve hp...

    I should probably add that I'm playing on a ipad 2.
