Current Behavior
After installing the most recent game update (1.0.2011), the first level mage and cleric spell Protection from Evil no longer gives a +2 bonus to AC and saving throws.

Expected Behavior
Protection from Evil gives a +2 bonus to AC and saving throws when cast upon a character.

This spell didn't change. It gives a conditional bonus. Probably the gui was changed to not print conditional bonuses. Protection from evil gives the bonus against evil creatures only.

right..it modifies only the attack roll or the difficult level of a spell made by an evil creature; in BG2 at least the attack roll would look like:

Note the change in the protection modifier and the attack roll.
[Haven't found a better way to show it, but Korgan is evil and my last save was by accident in the copper coronet ^^]

    ..stupid zoom wasn't properly working...

@Avenger_teambg Thanks for clarifying. Good to know the spell actually behaves according to the spell description now.

@valky Wow, how did you get that amount of detail to show up in the combat information in BG2? Is there any way to display this in BG:EE?

It's part of SCS II or a subcomponent, which let's you re-enable a forgotten switch in the baldur.ini.
Can be installed as standalone, but IMO it's not compatible with BG:EE - mod itself is called TobEX.

Once installed for BG2 (you don't need to install any subcomponent, just the loader) in the 'TobEx_ini' folder edit the "TobExCore.ini" -> change "Restore Extra Combat Info Text=0" to 1.
In the baldur.ini add under [Game Options] "Extra Combat Info=1" ...

That replaces the standard attack roll with a more detailed one :=) But I have it usually disabled, cause with SCSII you really want to see what spells the enemy is casting and the spam of this would make impossible.

[Am not quite sure, but the switch was present in vanilla BG1 without any additional program needed..or that's what google said^^]

Sadly, it doesn't work any more, as it was not part of the core BG2 engine, which BGEE uses.
