    I voted the first option, but I will add that this does not preclude checking for traps, by scroll or spell if necessary...

    Define crevice. Or rather use it in a sentence. I feel it's much safer that way. And less disturbing.

    I used to be like, "Oooh! What's this?" (Peek, peek, poke, poke.) constantly. But then I played Tomb of Horrors and you know that mouth that looks like a doorway? Yeah... nothing like being obliterated by a Sphere of Annihilation to teach one some caution... Me, the player I mean. Obviously my poor PC was y'know... annihilated...
