Headbomb's big list of weapons and items issues [Part 1]

@Avenger_teambg & @Jalily and others

I've spent some time with Near Infinity, and decided to just do an "Item Grind" like I did with my Skyrim Weapons and Armor fixes (http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/4719), based on version 1.0.2011. AKA, review everything, and flag everything that looked weird to me. Now I'm not saying everything in here is a bug, because some of those might be enemy-specific items that you'll never encounter in the game, and that the inconsistancies are just there because someone needed a 3 Strength Two-Handed sword for an enemy and couldn't be bothered to update the description. But I've tried to filter out those cases as best I could so the devs could focus on what would actually need attention.

I give devs and mods full permission to edit anything below the dashed line and use this post as a tracking list if they want, striking what's fixed, or what's not actually a bug.

Also this axe is listed with a price of 4500, whereas AX1H05, also a Throwing Axe +2, has a price of 2500 and Lore

of 65. I really can't see why the two differ from each other. Might not be encountered in game.

    Thanks, I've fixed the description issues for all mentioned items except SW2H02, which requires a new string, and HELM35 and HALBRD01, which aren't used. HALBRD01's description is also shared with SPER03, the real Backbiter, which does have a Strength requirement of 5.

    Actually, the requirement is 9. Makes sense to adjust it, though. @Avenger_teambg?

    This may or may not be the reason, but the ones with lower Strength requirements also weigh less.

    Good job on these!

    Thanks, but we could have saved you a lot of time. I've already submitted patches for the magical flags and enchantment levels, and I know @Avenger_teambg looked at missing lore scores.

    Magical flag already fixed. It's downsides are nearly as bad as its upside, so I believe the thinking here is to price it as a cursed item.

    Legit, but only sold in stores identified, so not an issue. Magical flags already fixed as well.

    In general, if an item's stated requirements match the actual requirements it's fine.

    Already flagged as magical, lore is not an issue since it's a store item, and NI simply doesn't understand its BAM (check it in game, it's fine). Now it does a different issue in that the icon for its melee ability is a generic 2h sword instead of its custom one.

    @CamDawg, with regards to the Belt of Antipode, the item isn't actually cursed, and if you know you're going to run into say a pack of winter wolves (i.e. the ice caves where Shandallar transports you), you can certainly equip it and it's all benefits. I know I certainly found that belt useful, although I never kept it on at all times on account of not wanting fireballs to be even deadlier than they already are.

    Also with a couple of those items, while they may not be used in BG1, maybe they used are in BG2 and possibly some mods. I'm mostly listing these out of concerns of being comprehensive. Whether the BGEE team wants to fix those (since it's a rather quick fix, and it's always nice to update things in the master, rather than in mods) or leave it to modders to fix, I'll leave up to you. Doesn't really bother me since I'm playing with an unmodded BGEE and I don't plan on running BGEE mods in the near future.

    Nah, the only one of those that's used in BG2 is palhelm. Like bootdriz, it's undroppable so the lore doesn't matter.

    @CamDawg No problem, it's great to be working with a dev team that appreciates bug reports and actually fix them in a timely manner, unlike some other nameless developpers which I will not mention. Nothing's more frustrating than spending hours hunting and documenting bug for free for a game you love and have devs ignore you.

    No idea if the patch containing those fixes will roll out before or after your Christmas break, but in all cases a merry christmas to y'all, stuff your faces with turkey and remember to leave the fruitcake alone.
