Dual-classing Imoen question

So I plan on dual-classing Imoen once she hits level 7 just to stay consistent once BG2: EE comes out, will she ever be able to use her thief abilities again in this game or will her max be 7thief/6mage?

    Looking over the XP tables, it looks like you'll be able to get her up to level eight.

    So you'll get your thief abilities back, but only near the end of the game.

    Was just thinking that if you dual class very late in the game, the first few levels for the new class gotta be coming every few kills.

    I wouldn't say "near the end" I usually hit the cap less than half way through the game.
