on the Mac via Steam + Crossover/Wine

Yep, BGEE has just been released on Steam

I've been able to play some otherwise-Windows-only games like Torchlight 2 on my Mac thanks to Steam + Crossover.

Has anyone tried BGEE Steam version on their Macs?

    Does steam really make a difference on this for any games? Shouldn't the binary be just the same if it needs Crossover/Wine?

    The main problem with BG:EE on Wine has been the launcher. If the steam client runs under wine, then you might have better luck with BG:EE.

    You should be able to find a "semi-official" torrent solution here or on the beamdog's forum. The launcher is not necessary. Maybe updating is more convenient with the launcher but it's obviously not the case for now with the steam version.
