Status of archery bug and eta to fix?

So I was going to start a new game to meet the new NPC and thought an archer would fit an evil party well but I recalled mention of a new bug which was introduced at the same time.

What will the effect of the bug be on a swashbuckler 5/fighter 8 with GM in longbows (left over pips in staff and THF'ing).
I expect 2 base +3/2 GM+1/2 fighter 7=4 attacks/round and 5 under haste?
What will I actually get?
When will the bug be fixed?
Will the fix be retroactive on existing games?

    Currently, bows get exactly two attacks per round, regardless of spell effects and specialization. So you'll have two attacks, no matter what.

    When the fix is implemented, the expected behavior will be restored. Since it's resource-based, it will affect existing saved games too.
