Conspiracy 1- After Xvarts were not involved in baldurs gate 2 and so they needed a new job

Conspiracy 2- Dwarves are invented because of small dogs. Small dogs tend to yip, be very bossy get anxiety and tend to horde their treasures such as bones. They also tend to dig a lot.

    Actually Dwarves were honestly modeled after the Jewish people by J.R.R. Tolkien. Think about the story of the Hobbit. A wealthy people, honed in trade skills, put through hardships and displaced from their homeland. Pretty cool parallel when you think about it.

    Conspiracy: With the help of Irenicus and Quale, Khalid fakes his own death to get away from Jaheira's constant nagging and pursue his dream of becoming an animal tamer for the circus. Khalid ensures an easy capture of CHARNAME's group for Irenicus while Quale creates an illusionary dead body to trick Jaheira. Little did Khalid know that Irenicus had his own reasons for helping him. Later, when CHARNAME, Jaheira, and Minsc escape Irenicus's dungeon, they run into Khalid, who is now an animal tamer for Quale's circus, in Waukeen's promenade. Luckily for him an incident at Quale's circus involving an illusionist with mysterious powers changed his face enough so that the group fails to recognize him. By the time the illusion wears off Khalid is long gone.

    Conspiracy: Imoen wasn't even supposed to be in BG1 and was added at the last second. She was supposed to die in Spellhold in BG2, but didn't. Then, ironically, she's one of the most important NPCs in ToB... :/
