Cursor bug

Current behaviour - The mouse cursor changes back and forth between the normal icon and a long thin column of gold lines. If the game is exited in this state then this carries over into windows which is quite infuriating because then I can't get rid of it unless I restart my computer and it's almost invisible against a light background.

Expected behaviour - Mouse cursor does not change.

I would take an in game print screen but apparently that doesn't work either.

Sounds to me like a graphics-driver issue. It might help someone to address this if you describe your hardware.

If you go to Options -> Graphics and toggle the hardware cursor, does that change anything?

Just to confirm Jalily's advice works on my ATI Mobility Radeon equipped laptop, unticking Hardware Cursor instantly fixed the issue for me.

It's a bug with Radeon HD graphics cards. The memory on the GPU where the mouse pointer is stored gets corrupted. The latest GPU drivers do not prevent it but they do lessen the frequency of the bug.
The only way to fix it is to restart your machine.
