Questions before purchase - (help)

Hi, I have a couple of questions on BGEE:

- Does the game have voice acting for other language verions, or just text? Is any new (EE specific) voice acting included?

- Is it better to purchase on Steam or here (faster updates)?

- Does the dev team get more $ if you purchse here, or on Steam?

EDIT: I've just noticed that this fits more into the Support section, sorry about that.

    Don't worry, you're fine here.

Just text for other languages now.

Yes, the new joinable NPCs and the Black Pits side adventure have plenty of voiced lines.

It's better to purchase from Beamdog if you want to get updates as soon as possible. Note that you don't need to use the Beamdog client if you do; there's a standalone installer option available here: http://www.beamdog.com/files/BGEEInstaller.exe

    More if you purchase here.

    Just text for BG:EE.

As for new voice acting specific to BG:EE - yes, each of the new characters has their own voice acting.

As far as I am aware, the voices are as follows:
    1. Nicola Elbro voices Neera.
    2. Gord Marriott voices Dorn.
    3. Mark Meer voices Rasaad and Baeloth.

If you purchase directly from Beamdog, you get updates faster. Currently, for Steam, updates are passed from Beamdog to Atari, then from Atari to Steam, and finally to the customer. That process can be as long or short as the communications between Atari and Valve. If you buy directly from Beamdog, you get the updates without the wait.

Nothing can be said about the future, however, with the situation revolving around Atari.

They make less on a Steam sale than Steam does.

If you purchase directly from Beamdog, you can include the game in your Steam library as a non-Steam game and still use the overlay (although it is somewhat buggy until you select a character; this is probably the way if redraws the UI).

You will still need to update the game yourself, as Steam doesn't handle that for non-Steam games, but the game can still be added to your central location/library if that is what is desired.

    Hope that helps :).

Thanks a lot Jalily and Troodon80, the Beamdog version looks like a better deal for everyone.
