I was talking about Temple of Elemental Evil, not Baldur's Gate.
    Baldur's Gate speeds are fiiiiine.

@Drugar Ah, okay. I did experience some slowdowns when I spam-cast summon monster spells, though.

How about Septerra Core, very interesting mix of real time - turn based battle RPG.
I,ve also enjoyed Evil Islands, starts slow but gives a lot of fun as game progress.

Discovered it at the beginning of this year and found it amazing! It's long and has some good battles. Haven't finished it yet, changed pc's and lost savegames of 40+ hours of gaming x.x

Oooh. Anyone play Darklands? It's sort of a "what if all the medieval superstitions about witches, demons and so on were real?". Medieval Germany + crazy witches/devil worshippers = win.

The interface is a funny combination of isometric rpg, choose your own adventure and travel screen. It's pretty elderly but can be made to work decently. A bit impeneterable with regards to rules though.
