Arkanis and Deder, a pair of brave volunteers that follow your party from the second Candlekeep Catacombs map.

I have lead the out of catacombs and what? And nothing!
They haven't even given me a single word of gratitude. Outrageous behaviour!

FEATURE REQUEST:
Maybe some small dialog with them at the end?
Some small award for saving them (in most cases they tend to die during their nearest battle unless you cover them)?

    I think the original BG (at least on the mac) had Arkanis joining the party in automatic dialog at the end of the same area you first meet them. I was surprised when I didn't see that in BGEE — in addition to the fact they both followed the party into the next area. o_O
