Change effects spell "Imprisonment"

If are ours CHARNAMEs successfully hit by Imprisonment, game end...

But why ? Imprisonment dont kill targets and we can use freedom to reverse it.
That kicking from party also terminate possible romances and that suck.

Spell Maze have VERY similar efffect like Imprisonment, but game don´t end and characters are still in group ( but unavailable ). If we change Imprisonment to unlimited maze ( because maze have only limited time ) it will be MUCH more reasonable.

    Maze differs from Imprisonment in that Maze is temporary. Imprisonment is permanent and can only be dispelled with a single spell that you only learn once you reach the Underdark.

    It's also impossible to leave the map area, then, until you free your imprisoned character.

    @Dee
    Sure but Imprisonment does not kill so why game end ?
    All what we need is change Imprisonment to permanent Maze.

    BTW Sorcerer doesn´t need go to Underdark :D

    Personally I don't see why romances or friendships have to end if your companion is imprisoned or turned to stone or anything like that. Ideally they should pick up where you left of IF you free them and have them rejoin the party. They should only end if you voluntarily dismiss them (or perma-death of course).

    Try to continue the plot of the game with your charname imprisoned. I dare you.

    You could continue doing some side-quests, but would be unable to advance the main plot, and without a sorcerer wouldn't be able to get to the Underdark to get freedom scrolls.

    I do agree however, that if someone in the party is capable of cast Freedom (at least has it in their spellbook or a scroll of it), it shouldn't be an instant gameover.

    Or hell, immediately cut to the part where Irenicus steals your soul, since after he got bored of waiting, he scryed your location (scrying a target that's been imprisioned reveals where they were imprisioned at, rather then where they are at that moment), and freed you himself. Except now you have to basically solo spellhold and the post-spellhold areas with just Imeon (you can technically skip the Saughin City and Underdark completely if someone can cast invisibility, or you can man-up and just take it all head-on). And only after you get out can you go and track down your companions who split up after your apparent demise.

    On the other hand, as long as you'd already started the Watcher's Keep (they probably wouldn't give you the rune-stone unless you had the Bhaalspawn, you could keep going through there. 9th level spells can be found as random drops in there, but it's pretty rare (Wish is never a random though, there's only 2 scrolls of that in the whole game).
