Swapping hard drives and want to keep my current playthrough

Hello there,

I will swap my laptop-harddrive for a faster SSD-harddrive tomorrow. I'm planning to reinstall all the things I need, including redownloading BG:EE. Now, I have a nice playthrough going on atm, so I want to transfer my saves to the new harddrive after the re-installation.

Just to be sure, these are the steps I am going to make:
1. Copy the save-folder from my Documents/BGEE folder.
2. Re-Install BG:EE on the new harddrive.
3. Transfer my backup save-folder to the new Documents/BGEE folder.
4. Continue my playthrough.

Do the save-files really contain everything I need, or do I have to copy other files as well?

Thanks!

The save files contain everything you need, aside from any mods you might have installed. If you have any mods and don't re-install them as well, then you will not have access to any of the mod content (items, quests, areas, etc.) from the save games.

If you don't have any mods installed, then copying the ./Documents/Baldur's Gate Enhanced Edition folder will be sufficient after reinstalling the game.
