I pondered for a while if I was gonna share these awesome portraits ;) But yea, this is such a good artist, that I thought you guys just had to see it!

This one is like it was made for BG :)

This one comes quite close as well id say

These two are the only ones that I could recover online (the rest are her older works, and they dont come close to this quality). The artist is Sylvia Koerner, but sadly her homepage is either broken or closed down:

While not exactly nice pictures, artistically, they are definitely quite well-done from a technical perspective. I agree that these are some of the best "baldurizations" I've seen so far.

    Sharing is caring.

The female portrait looks like it would make a great alt for Faldorn.

Ugh. No. It certainly would not.

If you mean the dropbox thread it kind of got deleted due to copyright reasons...

    Thanks...

that's a shame. It was cool seeing what other people had customized as their characters...

Amazing work indeed. I wouldn't mind if Overhaul/Beamdog commissioned a few images of hers for a portrait pack.

    Wow, these are exceptional!

I like these celebrity portriats here too, they look like bg2-ish. They don't stand out much, style-wise, but obviously they are celebrities so not for everyone's tastes.

Here are some more pictures of hers: http://www.epilogue.net/gallery/sylvia

It's not easy to track her down.
Her homepage is indeed closed until further notice:
    http://www.drachenbande.de/index.htm

She seems to have had copyright issues with some people trying to steal her work or pretending to be her on the Internet, as you can see here:

    http://comments.deviantart.com/4/2600655/258249231
"I think, as the real Sylvia Körner and the owner of the drachenbande-domain I should say some words to this. I won't comment about this fake account and the shameless use of my name, I will inform the DeviantArt admins directly to get this account banned. For your information: this account has nothing to do with the real drachenbande website or me, the real Sylvia Körner."

    and here: http://sylviak.deviantart.com/
    (see comments on that site)

But that was years ago... Still maybe those issues have gone on and that's why she has decided to keep low profile?

Thanks for sharing those finds Shandyr! That page you linked was the only one I could find as well, that kept her more recent works (2005 portraits). Shame that she hasnt updated her deviantart actually, I would love more portraits from her :(

Yea I could easily see her baldurized portraits as DLC packs in the future, something I would buy even :)

Ive seen those before. But indeed, amazing portraits for the style of BG2, sadly they dont come with the new image size for BG:EE.
On a side note, I do prefer the portrait style of the first Baldurs Gate, and it sucks that there are so few mimics out there! :)

I think the dropbox itself still exists but the thread got closed because of possible copyright infringement. This was because there were a few mods that popped up, as well as portraits and the like, with people claiming that those pictures, and mods and the like were created by them. And they patently were not.

The whole thing was kind of gross.

But it lead to the new rules on the forums. So some good came out of it.

Yes, the dropbox still exists. I'm not posting the link, but it's easy to find on the link I did post above.

Pretty much every BG character I've had in the last 5 years has had a celebrity portrait from that set (which is larger originally, I got the package from the original site on my PC...somewhere). I love them to bits. Cigar smoking Arnold Paladin or Snarky Jack Nicholson Fighter, nothing better!

And I would like to see some competition, any other images that are baldurized as this?
