    I'm addicted to Bards.

My favorite would be bards too. Most people write them off because LOL@GARRICK STATS HE IS THE SUXZOR!

But they are a lot of fun. Walking identification, great support caster, UAI, Blades can be built to be melee power house and Skalds can juice up a physical heavy party.

    Paladin/Cavalier!

Although really, I've enjoyed a lot of different characters.

Wild Mage! Hilarious and keeps you on your toes even after multiple playthroughs.

Also Stalker. Plays the way a ranger should.

    Regular ranger
  • I don't always play a single class, but when I do, I play a Blade.

Inquisitor is probably the best, but my own personal favorite is Archer. Pew pew pew!

    I have a couple actually.
    1. Undead Hunter in my first serious play through of BG2 I picked Undead Hunter because she was immune to level drain and I watched my dad suffer against the vampires a lot. But now I like to rp that early childhood a ghoul of something like that sneaked up through the catacombs of and injured someone close to the PC Most likely Imoen, but anyone can fit. Since that event the PC has dedicated himself to the destruction of the Undead and all it's allies.

    2. Swashbuckler was my second play through of BG2 I picked that class because I didn't want yoshi as a thief and I like the fact that it was kind of a fighter class at the same time and at the lead of the party it leveled up quickly.

Mage. There's something about a) collecting spells and b) being the most useful/important to micromanage.

I love bards because they have fun. I love sorcerers because they murder things. >:D

    Sorcerer. Spesifically Dragon Disciple.

I dislike multi-classes due to no kits and being all weird conceptually (some of them anyway) and I never got into the whole dual-classing thing.

I like blades, avengers, and specialist mages (illusionists and wild mages). Can't pick a single favourite.

You know, I've had this awful restartis syndrome for a long, long time. I've tried almost all possible class/kit combinations and from my point of view there're very pleasant singleclass characters that can be if not the most powerful (if compared to OP dualclass variants) but fun to play.

Assassin (I like to use backstabs and poison, also this kit makes you think much how to distribute thieving skills and I like to think much during playing)

Blade (I like to choose between spins, use spells and wands, this kit is very versatile)

Sorcerer (it's fun to be able to cast you favourite spell the second you think about it)

Avenger (from my point of view, this kit is what a druid should be - polymorphing into many forms, casting Web, Chain Lighting and killing Sarevok with one spell)

Wild Mage (it's so entertaining not to know if wild surge happens and what it brings, +1 to spell slots is a favorite thing too)

    Bard.

Going to go with the crowd here and say that blades are lots of fun. Basically a fast leveling single class fighter/mage, and I love fighter/mages, even in games where they don't quite work.

Specialist Mage or Sorcerer. I like the idea of being the weakest member of the party in the beginning, flinging a spell or two and then hiding behind the fighters (or behind a tree:-) - and by the end of SoA and during ToB being the most powerful party member, winning "tough" battles almost by myself.

I'm in Team Bard (specifically jester) with Blackguard as a close second.

hmmm cavalier is my new favorite after on my playthrough my main character got ambushed while i was too busy healing people and swarmed by three gnolls and he managed to kill them all single handed.

next is wild mage, what reasons do you need?

and 3rd is......ill say skald because it takes away everything i dont like about bards and makes them cool :D

Assassin , i do love myself some backstab and the poison is really good against mages.

Stalker a 2nd still decent backstab and can now actually fight well outside that .

This thread inspired me to make a Bard last night, which came out well but quickly got put aside when I remembered I couldn't hide or pick locks (or break locks very well), so I made a Swashbuckler instead :)

This has actually inspired me to make a Blade as well. i figure not being able to hide or pick locks can be addressed by Invisibility and knock repectively ;) Having said that i want a non-fighter/thief (my normal main CHARNAME) character to go into BG2:EE with so i have room for Hexxat in my group. (Dorn, Neera, Viconia and Hexxat cover the Warrior/Mage/Thief/Cleric basics with my bard providing "jack of all tradeness" with an free slot to shuffle other characters as needed.

Blade with a full Evilmparty is my next runthrough, as I hear the Theatre stronghold quests are some of the most interesting. I also recently ran a fighter/mage and was pleasantly surprised at how tough he got, so playing a Blade shouldn't be a hardship.
