Edwin or Xan?

Im a Blade chaotic neutral what should I do? Xan has a sick weapon and can make a pretty descent fighter and has a likeable personality however he has very low hit points and can't cast evocation spells. Edwin on the other hand has mad magic powers good constitution but is shit at melee attacks and a horrible personality..thoughts?

If you prefer Xan's personality by all means go with Xan. The game is not horribly difficult, so it's most fun to go through with party members who you find amusing or enjoyable.

Edwin is good for blasting shit, meanwhile the best way to play Xan is to use Enchantment spells such as Sleep, Hold Person, Emotion: Hopelessness and let him wallop the hell out of paralyzed/down opponents. Furthermore, while losing Evocation isn't fun, there are a lot of Wands that make up for it that he can be all means use. (Wand of Fire, Wand of Lightning. Wand of Magic Missiles is kinda poopy but it counts too. Wand of Frost is definitely kind of Evocation-y although it's not technically a spell.)

Don't forget that Xan can use throwing daggers for a ranged attack, while Edwin is stuck with quarterstaff for most of the game, meaning he has effectively no cheapie ranged for when you don't want to waste spells or wands.
