Game crashing

Hi!
Just downloaded and installed BG2. I tried starting a new game but it crashes every time.
I´m on a Mac with OSX 10.6.

Any ideas?

Is there an error it displays?

No, I just click "new game", it crashes and I get the message that BGII was unexpectedly ended and that a report of the crash will be sent to Apple.

@snoopdoggyboba So you're able to start BGII:EE, but then when you go to start a new game, it crashes?

    Exactly.

10.6, or 10.6.8? The game requires at least 10.6.8 in order to run.

Sorry, 10.6.8. When I get home from the office I´ll see if downloading and re-installing it again has helped.

Sadly, still no joy. As soon as I click "New Game" it crashes leaving me with this failure notice:

@Dee, is it safe to assume that the concerns with Intel processor running slow (GMA 950 on older macs) will affect BG II: EE as it did with BG I with the 1.2 patch?

The only way to be certain is to try it, but since their engines are more or less identical, I would expect any performance-related problems from the first game to persist in the second.

Whee! I´ve fixed my problem...the game didn´t like one of my character files for some reason. As soon as I deleted it the game started loading up.
