They get Wings in PnP? I believe they got Draconic Form in PnP which can sometimes result in Wings. The only 100% sure class to get wings is Favored Soul*

Red Dragon Disciples get wings at maximum 10th level in NWN 1, but they're really silly looking, small, little bat wing looking things that don't do anything. Also, it's a prestige class for bards and sorcerers that adds melee abilities and stat boosts only, as well as a few weak breath weapon uses, which allows them to be kind of like fighter-mages, but it's highly arguable whether the benefits are worth sacrificing ten levels of spell and/or song progression.

I quite like being able to stand in an Incendiary Cloud blasting away Fireballs and laughing at my enemies with beefed-up charisma/constitution to boot. But yes, I guess it's "arguable" how good every (prestige) class is, technically, if you're all min-maxy about it. RDD is good enough to get you through all of the Neverwinter Nights (2) campaigns on Core Rules difficulty though, and most modules I've played too, so I'm not sure there's much of a sacrifice to speak of.
Red Dragon Disciple, while require at least level 1 into an arcane class to be accessible, isn't a prestige class for casters.
Yes, it's a prestige class. I believe that you need to be able to cast level 3 arcane spells, and need to be able to spontaneously cast them (i.e. like a sorcerer or 3rd edition bard). You get a reduced casting progression in favor of what ultimately becomes the half-dragon template at level 10.
EDIT - Describing the PnP version here. Since people are also comparing NWN, NWN2, I thought it was worth specifying what my answer related to. The true source, in this case.

The RDD wings in NWN looked a lot better to me once I realized they're folded up. They'd be a lot bigger if you actually used 'em.
Also, RDD does give you levels of your spellcasting class, so you don't exactly sacrifice spell progression.

The RDD in NwN indeed sacrifices spell progression, as the prestige class doesn't grant bonus spell slots, nor increases the caster level. The RDD in NwN2 on the other hand received bonus spells for every non-odd level of the prestige class though.
The Dragon Disciple was never a prestige class intended for innate arcane spellcasters who want to master the Art. Not even in PnP. But giving it's a transformational class, it doesn't really depend on magic like other arcane caster classes do.
NWN RDD seems super useless now, especially for Deekin in HotU! What the hell, Bioware? If Nerds want to be good at hitting things, maybe they shouldn't waste levels on being a Nerd!
@Schneidend Try using the Dragon Disciple in NwN with the Player Resource Consortium installed. While it doesn't add a spellcasting pogression to the RDD, the mod brings the prestige class to its PnP 3rd edition counterpart (see link for all the RDD goodies that BIOWARE regrettable left out, for whatever reason). Not to mention all the nifty draconic feats and dragonblooded subraces that mod adds.

Nah, there are some good RDD builds if you just pick up one level of sorc, and make the rest paladin or barbarian.
You make Deekin a RDD if charname is a squishy caster and you want him to tank.
I found the wings @Crevsdaak was talking about in ee keeper. They are a helmet with a weird name ("fallen archer" was the name if it in my save). They look like deva wings, and look decent on aerie. I didn't test them much besides equipping so they could crash the game, dunno. They don't look like DD wings though.
@Schneidend, becoming a red dragon disciple makes some roleplaying sense for Deekin, because of his background as a dragon slave, and his fascination with the genetic relationship between kobolds and dragons. By the time he has the option to start taking RDD levels in Hordes of the Underdark, his bard song and spells are already fairly maxed out anyway, so he might as well "take a few levels in badass", plus, I think he gets some special fun dialogues if you let him start learning RDD.

They get the same color you choose for your hair, so you can even choose red, to make them more rdd-like

In PNP DnD they 100% get wings... at level 9.

@spaceinvader interesting info about color of the wings, I might make a character based on the wings for giggles. RDD would definitely fit, I wonder what other race/class would fit.
Interesting you can use infinity engine editor and assign the wings to any helm you desire

RDD was most beneficial in epic levels for NWN. It was the best way to get Dev Crit with a AA.
In BG it is good for quick stat boosts and immunity.

I'll see myself out.
@CoryNewb - That's probably for the best....
I'm learning things in this thread.
