Sunfire and magic resistance

in Baldur's Gate II: Enhanced Edition
In original BG2, sunfire blew straight through magic resistance, but to my surprise the spell was blocked by greater wolfwere magic resistance in the Windspear hills. Anybody else had this experience? It makes the spell much less good then :(

    Yeah, that little bug was fixed. (unfortunately. I liked it too)

    Oh ok, so it's a deliberate decision as opposed to a side effect of fixing the self-targeted spells go through magic resistance bug? Ah well.

    @nano That may be so, but I am no ordinary lobster! I am a mantis shrimp! The influence of my beyond godly charisma (at least 26 last check) extends far and wide. I have a secret army of creatures of all sorts that answer directly to me. You would be lucky to even get to see my cavitation powers once I set my army in motion.
