helllp... lost Gaal's key :(

i see 'Program Options', 'Debug', '1', in my ini file... but hit control space and I got nothing

    Try moving it to in between the last two lines:

    im doing the same thing, puting in the line, and it doesnt pop up in game with ctrl space. le sigh, i just wanna use it to get to watchers keep, since im bugged out....

    What program are you using to edit the file. Also, can you attach your INI file?

    @Troodon80 nevermind i got it, had to add in that extended 'Program Options', 'Debug Mode', '1', file, not how it shortens it like this crap, lol ^ so, thanks ALOT man, i really enjoy getting to watchers keep early. now i have a work-around. :)

    Weird. I have the same problem. I need the console to spawn Lothander after a bug in the poison quest but even though I've fixed the cheats to work (I can for example spawn wherever I want with ctrl + j) I can't get the console to appear when I press ctrl + space...

    If anyone have any idea what to do I would be very grateful.

    @Maxander, as with things like this, the best thing to do is upload the Baldur.ini file and let us take a look. :)

    Thanks but it seems to have worked out for some reason I'm not aware off. I tried it out earlier today after creating a new char and then the console appeared just like it should. My computer was probably having a bad day that evening I had that problem :)

    I had problems getting the console to work

    My problem was the folder was set to read only. check that the folder ANd the file are not set to read only

    @brookdh17 it looks like you are playing the original BG2 (not the enhanced edition).

    Putting

    Debug Mode =1

    Under [Program Options]

    Should be good enough.

    It could be a case of permissions screwing it up. You may want to install this and all other games outside of your Program Files directory. I prefer C:\Games myself.

    If you are running it in windows then it could also be a case where the folder the ini file is set in is read only, so everytime you launch the game it reverts to the default (the ini file you included here didn't include the debug mode line). Just make sure to check over the folder permissions to rule it out because I know it has been an issue before.

    But yea, otherwise install in C:/games if you can as jackjack says.

    I'm having the same issue. Do you mean I have to redownload it from steam into the C:/games file? I tried just moving it over and nothing worked.

    I'm not sure why your ini file looks so weird (it looks like its from the original BG1). If you do own the game on Steam then the first thing you should do is verify the integrity of your game. Afterwords all you should need to do is put

    'Program Options', 'Debug Mode', '1',

    underneath


    INSERT INTO options ROWS (


    So it should look like


    INSERT INTO options ROWS (

    'Program Options', 'Debug Mode', '1',

    Load Steam
    From the Library section, right-click on the game and select Properties from the menu.
    Select the Local files tab and click the Verify integrity of game cache.

    Alright, so the issue was that I had tried to effect my original install of Baldur's Gate (that wouldn't run on my computer with compatibility mode) but it's not letting me install.

    Even though, I found the right Baldur.ini file but it was in a different location then where the game icon was...

    Anyway, I think I have it fixed now (if anything I can pull up the CLUA Console...)

    I can't get the console to work with the beta patch, but I can get it to work in the non beta version.
