Unable to import games from Balder's Gate into Balder's Gate II

I have been unable to import games from the Mac Version of the program that I purchased from the App store and is running on OS Mavericks.

    What you have to do is load your final save in BG1:EE and go to the record screen and export your character. Then what you do is open your BG1:EE "characters" folder and copy the .chr file you just made into your BG2:EE "characters" folder. Then you should be able to import your character into a new BG2:EE game.
