New companions off-limits?

Hi, I recently bought the enhanced edition of Baldur's Gate 2. When I got in-game I noticed that the 4 new companions had a grayed out "installed" button on them. Do I have to buy them separately? And if so, where?

Also, can I buy them after having started a new game and still add them to my party without having to start all over?

    As you just pointed out, the game already tells you that they are in fact "installed".
    PC version has them all bundled. Only iPad/Android has them as DLC - which ends up being the same price, as the game itself is cheaper on iPad/Android.

    Explore a bit in game.
    You should meet them along the way.

    If you are talking BG1, note that at least one of them is not recruitable the first time you meet them. They will unlock after a specific event though, so no problems.
