Biography Bug

Just installed IWD:EE and noticed that none of the character biographies get correctly implemented in my game. I'm using pre-generated characters - some have custom biographies, some have the premade ones.

When I start a new game with my party however, the only text in 'biography' is "Base Thac0" or something. The last time I started a game it was a different text, but also some nonsensical one-liner.

Is this a known bug or am I doing something wrong?
