Reputation titles

One thing I enjoyed about the Fallout games was how in addition to your character's regular reputation/karma, you could also get titles for performing specific deeds. For instance, if you became a gangster in Fallout 2, you'd get the title "Made Man." If you dug up someone's grave, you'd get the title "Gravedigger." And so on. Every title had a short description and illustration and some of them were pretty funny. Some of them also had gameplay significance.

It's probably too late to include something like this in the initial release of BGEE, but is there any way that something like this could be included post-ship? If not, maybe it's something that could be implemented in BG2EE.

Well in its simplest implementation they could add journal entries for them. Apparently a lot of work has been put into the UI so they might be able to add something like this to a new screen eventually. Or maybe use the info screen that has the most used spell/powerful kill and all that.

I actually like this idea. It'd be a neat little roleplaying addition. And if you don't like a title you've been granted, you could always change it or turn them off. Similar to World of Warcraft.

Dont games normally include that feature because there isnt a way for them to refer to you by your first name? "Bhaalspawn" is basically the title that you carry around anyway, and its hard to think that you'd have another feature that makes you more distinct to people.

It's not quite what he's on about. It's not as much a title you get referred to as how people react to you based on the reputation. To use _Q_'s example, in F2 if you have the "Made Man" reputation from one of the titles, citizens of New Reno will fear, respect or hate you. Dialogue will change to reflect it and some NPCs will give you discounts in their store, offer special services or plant a bullet in your face if it's one of the other criminal families.

In ToEE one of the first "dungeons", the Moat House, will earn you the reputation of "Moat House Cleaner" for clearing it completely; it makes bandits, evil shopkeepers and other scum think less of you and react somewhat negatively.

For BG:EE they can't really do much with the original NPCs, but a lot allready react to you having completed spesific quests so they could add reputations to reflect those, flavour entries for others and actual meaningful stuff for new content that's being made.
