More isometric landscape areas for Infinity Engine

Hi all,

almost 1 year after my last thread (http://forum.baldursgate.com/discussion/22488/new-landscape-environment-art-for-infinity-engine-games-with-blender#latest) I've made it to dive in once again into creating more environment art for IE. I've come across some new software which made my life much easier in terms of modelling.
The first is Vue (e-on software) and goes well together with World Machine. It is so much easier to create believable realistic terrains with it. You will find enough tutorials on youtube.

To make it short, I want to show you what I have modelled in the last month:

I started with some mountains in World Machine and with the right lightning its immediately looked great - at least from an overview.
The problem was that if you zoom in the details are too low.

So this one needs some rework, but it was a good start. With so many ideas in my mind I jumped right onto the next projects (pics are attached below):

A swamp

A area near a lake in the winter like in Icewind Dale

And a mountain scene like the ones from the National Park where I live:

My next project is going to be an inside environment like a cave. There are so many possibilities...

Looking awesome! The tundra one could be straight out of IWD2, keep up the good work :)

Wow! Those look great! I could never got into 3D modeling (my computer isn't good enough *and* I suck at it), so I make the areas from Photoshop, by cutting pieces of existing areas and pasting them over other areas, it takes lots of time and work, but it's easier, and I like it.

cool, the third one is spot on.

i don't like the first one however, the erosion effect looks weird.
the last one is nice but the colors are strange (contrast is very pronounced). the erosion effect is also pronounced there and i don't like it.

It is interesting what different kind of effects you can achieve only by merely changing the material.
Those area are of course too large to use it as IE areas, since in World Machine it presents an 8x8 km wide area. But you could zoom in e.g. the right lower corner and use this as starting point. You could also this huge area to make 4 (or more) adjacent ones like in BG 1...

I so wish I had the patience to learn to do something like this. These are great.

Good areas. And if the author did not reflect on the creation of quests mods for BG? it easier to create a landscape compositions, and other areas.

Excellent work, the Snow by the lake and Swamp areas are particularly impressive in my eyes, well done!
