Long Swords of IWD

I've decided to create an elven Kensai for my little band. I'd like to give him proficiency in long swords. However, are there even any decent long swords in the game? I know there's some awe-inspiring warhammers and 2-handed swords and such, but I don't recall any memorable long swords from when I last played years ago.

    There are some incredible longswords in the game. Of course a lot of bad guys are resistant to slashing weapons so you might want to learn flails and warhammers (both have great weapons in the game)

    I've gone longswords many times and have never been disappointed yet.

    Dual-wielding Longsword of Action +4 would make your Kensai as scary as Zaknafein.

    There's plenty of long swords to go around, just remember to have diversity, or else you'll be fighting for items and not getting to use most of the items you get.
