Mount & Blade is an amazing game. Warband was a super upgrade, though I did prefer the original's world map. Haven't really paid attention to how #2 is coming along but if it's anything at all like the first game then it's worth picking up.
+1 to that. Original indie game, lots of fun, lots of mods and a good mod community; warband was more polished and just as fun and had a good modding community too. Even if it were just a modern graphics upgrade, it would be worth supporting the new version.
