Solo FMT Gear - Pushing the limits

OK - so I cheated a little.

1. I added 1 APR so I didn't have to UAI and use Scarlet Ninja-to in my offhand. This is a net gain of 2 STR as I will be dualing Crom Faeyr in the offhand.
2. I removed the free action component from Flail of Ages +5.

I'm running FMT and want to know BIS Gear and spell setup.
I have rolled an 89 w 99 str thanks to the autoroller.

Elf
Neutral Evil
Solo BG1:EE-BG2:EE.

18/99 STR
19 Dex
17 Con
18 Int
7 Wis
10 Cha

Planning on:
+2 Str (Book + Lum Machine)
+1 Dex (Book + Lum Machine, Hell Good Trial Removal)
+2 Con (Book + Lum Machine)
+2 Int (Book + Lum Machine)
+4 Wis (Book*3 + Lum Machine + Hell Trial Good Addition, Irenicus Dream Removal)
+3 Cha (Book + Lum Machine + Hell Trial Good Addition)

Proficiency:
+3 2 weapon style
+2 flail
+2 war hammer
+2 longsword (bg1, early bg2)

Final Gear:
Helm of Balduran
Amulet of Power
Robe of Vecna
Montolio's Cloak (Use any item)
Gloves of Extraordinary Specialization
Belt of Save vs. Breath/Missle dmg/magic dmg (trademeet)
Boots of Speed
Ring of Gaxx
Ring of Prot +3 (Deck of Many Things)

Spells:
Improved Haste
Stoneskin
Mirror Image
Spell Protection from (Abjuration/Divination)
???

HLAs:
UAI
Time Trap
Spike Trap
???

Questions:
1. Is that the Best Gear I can get?
2. What spells should I be choosing?

Thanks :)

I don't know if it's the best gear but is the same i used for my fmt, except the cloak because i used the one from the rasaad quest in ToB (previously the cloak of non detection because it saves from true sight while hiding in the shadows)

    1. It would be very difficult to decide on a set of the best gear. What you have listed certainly seems among the best. However, in a solo game your greatest asset is deciding gear based on the challenge at hand. Do not marry into a single set.

    2. As non specialised mage you will be allowed to learn all the spells. So experiment and don't sweat it.

I'd probably pick cloak of mirroring over montolio's and pack a backstabbing weapon, Namarra +2 (dmg 1d8 +4) is a good choice and available early on

Cloak of Non-Detection will help to keep you invisible when you use it.

Pretty sure the Cloak of Non-Detection still only works with stealth, not invisibility.

What's a BIS? Is that some MMO thing?

Fighter/Mage/Thieves unfortunately don't get mage HLA or 9th-level spells unless you tweak the LUABBR.2da file and remove the XP cap. Normally they're limited to fighter and thief HLAs.

BIS is Best in slot. Also don't overlook the Bard Wonderous Gloves. Would fit a FMT very well

Pro from magic weapons is essential when you don't want to get hit ever, even with stoneskins a critical hit from a couple mindflayers will insta kill you. Death spell removes most pesky monsters like umber hulks, some gaıths etc.

Spell turning is also useful. Breach is needed but you can sub wands for that. Your dispel/remove magic won't be powerful enough most of the time, though.

With UAI you can equip Carsomyr in a pinch for good mr and dispelling hits. I don't recall if uai allows an evil person to wield it, though.

You won't need Montolio's cloak though
2 Thac0 in offhand is useless since you will already have one more than good enough, with all the bonuses you get here and there
AC is not the way you protect yourself with a FMT. I'd suggest a cloak of mirroring instead. Your HP pool will not be so big which makes you vulnerable to things such as ADHW or dragon breath attacks for example.
Same thing, for the same reasons, for Helm of the Balduran
This time I will suggest Headband of the Devout from Rasaad's ToB quest instead which you can use with UAI.
You did not suggest a belt, and since you got the Headband of the Devout option, I would suggest the 22Str Belt (you will get 25 with the additional 3 from HotD's Righteous Magic) which will allow you to replace Crom Faeyr in off hand for a better Damage weapon if it exists.
What comes to my mind taking Righteous Magic into account:
Crom Faeyr: 16 damage per hit
Spectral Brand: 16,5 damage per hit
    Angurvadal: 16,5
Foebane: 16 damage+Heal, and additionnal damage against many types of enemies
Storm Star: ~ 16,5 average but much less consistent due to the low probability of chain Lightning.

I got tired of cheating and felt bad about it so I am rerolling and not shadowkeepering/cluaconsoling anything.

Looks like I'm back to Crom Mainhand Scarlet Ninja to offhand. My goal is also to have the laziest set of gear and I care about the highest saves possible (AC doesn't matter for me). Pretty much just reducing the amount of time spent buffing (stoneskin/ip haste on me 24-7), reduce the amount of time spent resting, and reduce the amount of time spent reloading (high saves vs domination / maze etc)
