HELP: BGEE LAUNCHER DOES NOT WORK! (WINDOWS 7)

DebaserDebaser Member Posts: 669
I get a message about windows searching for a solution, but nothing else. I've been searching the forum and Googling, but this exactly problem doesn't seem to come up. I can get the game to load with EXE in the Beamdog/GAMES/00766 file (named "Baldur") but the launcher itself won't load. I can't seem to get to the difficulty settings for the game any other way and this is extremely frustrating. I would appreciate any help with this I can get.

To find the difficulty slider, run Baldur.exe and go to Baldur's Gate -> Options -> Gameplay.

BGEE.exe is just for downloading and updating the game. Try this:
    1. Make sure BGEE.exe is not running.
    2. Go to C:\Users\<your_username>\AppData\Local\BeamDog\BGEE\Profiles\Settings.
    3. Open the file with a plain text editor such as Notepad.
    4. Change the word "True" to "False".
    5. Save your change and start BGEE.exe.
