Major issues with loading saves after 2.0

in Baldur's Gate II: Enhanced Edition
So, very similar to https://forums.beamdog.com/discussion/49765/cant-load-pre-bg2ee-saves-after-patch-2-0

I can load the old files, but story mode is automatically turned on, and if I turn it off, i lose control of 3/5 of my party members, and I never regain control of them, making the game pretty much unplayable on any mode but story mode. Please tell me you guys are working on a fix.

    what solved it for me: Load, deactivade Story Mode (still cant get over this abomination), set difficulty to whatever you want. SAVE. Then click all the way through the "Advanced AI"-Menu till NPC behave as you would like them too. SAVE again. from then on it should work just fine...at least that did it for me.

    Advanced Ai seems to be set from the getgo to do everything. USE alle the Spells, Use all the abillitys and do both at the same time.
