Dude there is no "debate." There is a perfectly good community where people are generally good to each other, being invaded by trolls. There is no honest debating, no "both sides have a point." There are just barbarians at the gate, who have decided to try to destroy something.
And for the most part, the reaction has been goddam inspirational. People who have been antagonistic to each other in the past have joined together to fend off the nutcases. People have treated invaders with respect, listened to their points, and then calmly and cogently torn them apart and defended the community. The people on these boards are using facts as swords, and courtesy as shields, and successfully driving off people who don't fight fair.
This, more than anything, is a tribute to Beamdog. It's the best early indicator of the product's future success. The game is good, and its quality will ultimately outshine these pathetic efforts to undermine it.
