    So I need to completely uninstall BG1, delete all the folders in both Steamapps and My Documents, then do a fresh install with 1.3? I will do this. Here's hoping.

    I don't know if it will solve your problem, but it's certain that if you don't do that it cannot work. I suggest you backup the folder in "My documents" since it has all your savegames.

    It worked! And the game is once again what I remember. I sure hope they leave this option intact.
