Minsc with Cursed Berserk Sword

Memory is failing me again with old age.
I seem to recall a way to make this work, whereas Minsc could use the sword without endangering the party.
A forum search sent me all over the place but could not find what I was looking for.
Either it was hitting Minsc with Dire Charm, (Mental) Domination or Chaotic Commands to over-ride the nut-bar "kill everyone effect". Not having any success though.
Yes yes, 'Remove Curse', anyway..... any successes?

    The only way I can think of is to send him up ahead by himself, either stealthed or invisible, into the middle of the group of enemies and then kick off his own berserk abililty first. Have everybody else at a distance.

    Try to use the Priest of Tyr's special ability on him - it should heal the berserk state.
