Newest BG2 EE can no longer source BG1 (or SoD) saves for importing charname? (Mac)

    Works for me.

When importing a savegame, it isn't even necessary to copy anything from SOD, because BG2EE takes a look at the SOD save folder and offers you what's there.

Make sure you use "Import Game" instead of "New Game -> Import".
This should take saves from your BG:EE save folder and BG:EE sodsave folder.

If you don't have the option below, you've probably still got version 1.3.2064 of BGII:EE and should update.

    Some general questions...

In your document folder are there game folders for BGEE and BGIIEE.
Does the BGEE folder have save and sodsave folders with the saves you would expect to import from.
Are there any symbolic links for the games in your document folder
What is the full path name for each game, and for the document BGEE/BGIIEE folders
Do you have any unusual characters (e.g. à) in any of the path names

We have a known issue if only one of the game folders is located in the Library folder but both yours seem to be so that is a little odd.

    You could try the following:
    1) Shut down Steam (if you're using that) and make sure the BG applications are not running.
    2) Rename Macintosh HD > Users > "userdir" > Documents > Baldur's Gate - Enhanced Edition by adding old to the end.
    3) Rename Macintosh HD > Users > "userdir" > Documents > Baldur's Gate II - Enhanced Edition by adding old to the end.
    4) Create a new folder named Baldur's Gate - Enhanced Edition in your Documents folder.
    5) Create a new folder named Baldur's Gate II - Enhanced Edition in your Documents folder.
    6) Copy the contents of the old folders to the new.

Does it work after you do that?

I just had a similar issue, which turned out to be a problem with symlinks. The game folders under "Documents" were links:

    Baldur's Gate - Enhanced Edition -> /Users/USERNAME/Library/Containers/com.beamdog.baldursgateenhancededition/Data/Documents/Baldur's Gate - Enhanced Edition Baldur's Gate II - Enhanced Edition -> /Users/USERNAME/Library/Containers/com.beamdog.baldursgateIIenhancededition/Data/Documents/Baldur's Gate II - Enhanced Edition

I searched for the string "sodsave" in the BG2 executable and found something suspicious:

    home:/../Baldur's Gate - Enhanced Edition/sodsave

The game was probably searching for BG1/SoD saves in the BG2 hierarchy. To test the theory, I created the following directory:

    /Users/USERNAME/Library/Containers/com.beamdog.baldursgateIIenhancededition/Data/Documents/Baldur's Gate - Enhanced Edition/sodsave

and copied the save there. Now BG2 was able to find and import it.
