in Baldur's Gate II: Enhanced Edition
At what point can I kill him? Feeblemind trick still work? Want those boots of speed. Have not picked a side yet, Yoshimo is in my party, have not interacted with Mae'var or Renal. I forgot how I am supposed to proceed :)

    You can kill him after either siding with Bodhi, or after siding with the Shadow Thieves and returning from Spellhold. You may still run into Arkanis Gath, though.

    Ok - I am going to side with the Shadow Thieves, and rush to get Imoen back. I want to have her in my TOB party so I will be doing all the overworld quests after we return.

    To get the boots you need to charm him, move as close to the door as possible, than deliver enough damage to kill him before him or his buddies turn hostile. Grab the boots via new feature of EE (fast pickup?) and get out before Arkanis is spawned. All of the other old tricks don't work.
    I usually do this right after getting the stronghold and *tell everyone* that the Night Masks killed Roenal.
