Can't use green protection scrolls anymore

Specifically, I cant seem to use them with pureclass thieves, but my F/T can.. is this intended or are some of my mods conflicting? RR and song and silence perhaps? My int is above 9 i checked it with several different thief kits, none of them could use the scrolls. Did something change? or were thieves never allowed to use these? I thought they were universal..

edit: just rerolled a F/T couldn't use them either, but the one I have in SoD (it could use them in BGI too) can.. weird.

    What are the characters' intelligence? I think there is a minimum required (8 maybe) to read a scroll

    Yep, actually I installed refinements for this run, going to see what happens when I uninstall it, will update.

    edit: Just uninstalled it, and I can use the scrolls again.
