Mod or method for customizing formations?

I like the "tight triangle" formation except for the fact the party leader is in the back row rather than at the front. The "wide triangle" formation has the leader in front but the formation is too spread out for my liking.
I've tried using the tight triangle and simply reordering my party so that my character is in the first row, but that means when the party is selected and I try to interact with someone, the guy in the back row will have to come forward through the lines and initiate the conversation. I could manually select my character and have him do the interaction, but that's inconvenient.
What I'd like to do is just change the silver dot on the tight triangle to be the character in front. Is there a mod or something that lets me do this?
