Does the Beamdog Launcher automatically update you when a new version of the game is released the way that Steam does? If so does it give you the option to revert to a previous version so you can continue playing on your PW of choice until it updates, tests and bugfixes for the new version as well?
If the Beamdog launcher does let me choose to not update or at least to revert, the way the original Bioware/Gamespy version did, I'd rather buy it thru here than via Steam.

In the Client you choose yourself if you want to update the game when an update is available, or not.
The Client doesn't provide an option to roll back to the previous version, but there's always a Head Start branch (which you can opt in) - which will provide the latest (yet beta) build (if compared to the normal branch) - which you can choose in the dropdown menu in the Client.
